I had acquired a wealth of knowledge and became a subject matter expert in my role at the General Bank of Canada and felt It was the perfect time to seek a new opportunity to enhance my career. The values and culture I experienced at GBC motivated me to focus my search within the Wheaton Group. I wanted to continue to be part of a company with positive morale, strong leadership, and ethical practices. The role offered by FCFG allowed me to combine the analytic skills honed at GBC and my previous inclinations for relationship management and business development. In my first year with FCFG, I've had the pleasure of working closely with the Alberta field team and have received fantastic support from various head office departments. I am looking forward to being a part of the growth of this company.

I have a background in mechanics and body shop work, which I can tailor to most complexities of the claims received. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I have gained a keen understanding of the needs of this type of business and it allows me to come up with solutions to address them. I chose to work with FCFG as they take a very hands-on approach, and, with my knowledge, I feel that I can contribute to the company and achieve goals as everyone works together. I have always wanted to try new things and with FCFG I am learning new values and work ethics to strengthen what I have learned along the way. It is a fun company to work for that offers perks that keep the employees happy and wanting to get up and go to work. I have been with the company for just over a year and it has taught me that we are all on the same team and that there is always someone to lend a helping hand.

When I joined this company, I brought with me a background in the medical field, but absolutely no prior experience in the insurance industry. Green as I was, each day I endeavored to learn every aspect of my job description and strove to achieve success in my new career path. To ensure I as successful, I was provided full support by my management team, and, 23 years later, I continue to feel supported. Another key to my success is that, from the bottom of my heart, I believe in the products we offer, I am extremely proud of our integrity, our continued growth, and how we strive for the highest level of customer service. Little did I know, the career choice I made in 1998 would lead me to a lifelong career. I continue to enjoy coming to work each day and I remain proud to contribute to the success of this organization.

I started with FCFG in 2009 as an Account Manager. Working alongside all Account Managers, Territory Development Managers, and other Regional Managers across the country was always a goal of mine. In 2019, I was given the chance to take on the role of Provincial Manager. I have always felt that my hard work was recognized company wide and have felt part of a very cohesive team. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of great people along the way that supported my growth and helped me achieve my goals.

Employee Engagement

At First Canadian we care what our employees think. We hold annual Employee Focus Groups, quarterly Town Halls, seek feedback through employee surveys and provide opportunities for all employees to participate in special projects that contribute to our success. We listen, encourage honest feedback, implement change, and ask again.
The Culture Team is made up of volunteer employees from different departments, backgrounds, age groups and genders. Their purpose is to educate and celebrate, lead with compassion and courage, communicate with inclusion in mind, and make FCFG a safe and accessible environment for everyone including our customers and employee family members.
